Andbook (formerly “hotelandbook”) was a European hotel consortium including Accor, Hilton International, and several others, seeking to share costs in developing a somewhat experimental hotel search site. This new brand featured a new identity program from consultancy Lambie-Nairn, and the site leverages the proprietary brand imagery and cool, airy tone.
Andbook was one of the first sites to plot hotels on a map, and the entire site was localized in English, French, and German. Leadership, marketing, creative, and development collaborated on site in Sophia Antiopolis, France. The design and engineering are lightweight, to accommodate the tight bandwidth constraints of the time.
Ultimately, this experiement was short-lived, as each brand later withdrew resources to focus on their own roster of brands.
